Ideya introduction

Below are five ideya in the five colors;

Red, yellow, green, blue, and white.

Every visitor who arrives in Nightopia carries within their soul light. This light is known as Ideya. This light can be separated into five distinct color types. Red is Courage, Yellow (or gold depending on how you look at it) is Hope, Green is for Growth, Blue for Intelligence, and White for Purity. Visitors with at least one Ideya are able to lucid dream and to the Dream Gate where their ideya can manifest doors to that visitor's nightopia. But usually ideya are taken by nightmaren, creations of Wizeman, which can bar them from entering this realm. Most visitors tend to be children, who are full of wonder and haven't been jaded by the real world, which can cause the light of their ideya to dim or even eventually go out. Though this does not mean the ideya is gone. Much like a candle, the ideya remains if its light is gone, and can possibly be relit. People can have any combination of ideya, but only one of each color. Someone may have only the purity and hope ideya but the others are dormant. It is also know that every visitor has a core ideya, the main one they use. Back when the ideya arts were common, visitors would use the ability of their ideya, and this would be their only ability as a visitor can only have a single core ideya. However a visitor's core ideya can change through life, for example; A kid whose core ideya was courage may have intellegence as their core ideya as an adult.


When it comes to ideya being stolen, it is usually due to Wizeman's nightmaren or in the exceedingly rare case, another visitor as only those from the waking world seem to have this ability. It is believed that the only reason nightmaren are able to take ideya is due to their connection to Wizeman. As to what use an ideya would serve, there are many things believed to be possible with them. But sadly after Somnus' sacrifice, those ideya centered arts were lost, only whispered in tales from that day. This page will going into detail about these abilities, gathered from lost records and old rememberances, along with the symbols that represented each ideya in the old age.


There will also be no entertainment to the rumors of "dark ideya" until these rumors have been confirmed. While the idea is possible, there is no evidence of such a thing.



Ideya Proper


Ideya of Courage
Ideya ability: Flight
Color: Red
Assosiated gemstone: Ruby
Core ideya users: Elliot, Claris, Will and Helen (logged in the visitors section)

The ideya of Courage is well documented for its ability to be difficult for nightmaren to take. When nightmaren take the other four ideya, they can never seem to be able to take the ideya of courage. This is hypothesized to be due to how nightmarens are born from fear, the opposite of courage. The only time the courage ideya has been recorded to have been taken by force was when Wizeman struck fear into a visitor who was flying, weakening their courage ideya enough to be taken by him. It isn't known if Wizeman can take the courage ideya without striking fear into a visitor.

When the ideya of courage is at its brightest, visitors with it as their core ideya gain the ability to fly without fear of falling, similar to how first level nightmaren can fly with great skill and expertise, though they lack the paraloop ability of first level maren. Likewise, those with a dim red ideya are unable to fly, their fear grounding them, and if the ideya of courage has gone out then it might make it easier to be taken.

According to old legends, it was a visitor with courage as their core ideya who sealed Wizeman into this realm.

Ideya of Hope
Ideya ability: Light
Color: Yellow (possibly Gold)
Assosiated gemstone: Citrine
Core ideya users: Kenzie

The ideya of hope is known for being the spark one needs to take action, as those won't give up and look towards a making things better and put their faith into the world becoming better. Though rare, they are some of the more powerful dreamers. Sadly, in this day and age hope is frowned upon in the waking world, often called "foolish optimism". Sadly this ideya is able to be stolen like the others, and is highly sought after by Wizeman due to how it can spark one to reignite or reclaim their other ideya. It is said that in the old age that those with the ideya of hope at their core ideya were the light in the darkness, rallying those downtrotten and lost to a cause to save Nightopia, lighting the fires of rebellion and liberation.

The ideya of hope when at it's brightest can allow its core users to manifest and manipulate light, weaving it into various colors and that this light can brighten the spirits of those crestfallen. Likewise, those with dimmed or even unlit ideya of hope will not be able to find light in darkness. Some even say those with a unlit ideya of hope are blinded by dispair.

Some say that the ideya of hope when at its brightest shines like polished gold.

Ideya of Growth
Ideya ability: Strength
Color: Green
Assosiated gemstone: Emerald
Core ideya users: Unknown

The ideya of growth represents one's ability to get back up from falling, to learn from one's mistakes and to keep improving. By its nature it is the ideya of change, and is often seen in vistors in the arts and athletics due to how much one must learn and train themselves in such fields. Those who have this ideya are resilient and determined, and hard to keep down, a force to be reconed with. This is one of the more common core ideya, though sadly after the old age ended all records of the note worthy core users of this ideya were lost. But the echos of their trials can still be felt throughout all of Nightopia, in the voices of the wind to the ruins of the old nightmare realm they tore assunder. Sadly, like the other ideya, in this day and age keeping this ideya is hard as it is easy to fall into a stagnant state of being from the condition of the waking world.

The ability that core users of the ideya of Growth had incredible strength, agility and stamina. Those had their ideya of growth shine the brightest were said to be able to lift the weight of worlds upon their shoulders, run at lightning speeds and barely break a sweat. Due to the nature of this ideya the strength limit of someone with this as a core ideya is unknown due to how those with this ideya always seek to improve, learn and grow. But it is likely that like with many things there's be a singularity of improvement.

This is the most common core ideya at this point in time.

Ideya of Intellegence
Ideya ability: Telekenesis
Color: Blue
Assosiated gemstone: Saphire
Core ideya users: Unknown

The ideya of intellegence is one of the more broad types due to how one can be intellegent, one doesn't need to know rocket science to have this ideya. People with creative imaginations, creative minds and curious minds can have this as their core ideya. Due to this, many people have this ideya, especially in what visitors call "geek culture", making it the second most common ideya type. Children often have this ideya as their core due to how new they are to the world and how curious they can get. Sadly, like the other ideya, the trials of the waking world snuff out the light of this one as the education system takes the fun out of learning and some people learn of things they'd rather not know, and decide ignorance is bliss. Such a tragedy.

The ideya art of intellegence is mind over matter. Core users can move things with their mind, and the brighter the light of the ideya, the more this ability can do. Some who have their ideya of intellegence shine bright can change the item they're focusing on, or make items appear out of thin air and vice versa. However the latter abilities are only rumors from the old age, but study to investigate this matter is encouraged.

Whenver someone moves an item with this ability a blue electric static aura surrounds the item.

Ideya of Purity
Ideya ability: Healing
Color: White
Assosiated gemstone: Pearl
Core ideya users: Unknown

Purity, the kindess of the ideya. Those with this as their core ideya are kind, help others and give more than they take. This ideya isn't too common among visitors, but the few with this at their core make up for their lack of numbers in droves. Their want to help others is what helped the most during the last days of the old age. But like the other ideya, in the modern day this ideya is dimmed too due to the trials of the waking world. The corruption of various systems makes the sacrifices of those pure of heart be in vain, and this dims their ideya of purity, but barely ever make it go out due to the fact that there is at least the smallest sliver of kindness within the hearts of people.

The art for this ideya is healing, this ability being able to heal wounds, numb pains and lull people to sleep if their injuries are too great. Rumors have it that those who were healed with this ideya felt the comfortable sense of warmth and peace come over them as the core purity user tended their wounds, only to wake up with faded scars. This ideya can't fix injuries that have long since healed like missing limbs, blindness or severe illnesses, but it can releive the pains and aches of these. This ability also cannot bring back those who have died, resuscitation yes, resurrection no.

Tales of those who were healed by this ideya say that the healing light looked like bubbles.

Ideya Items


Ideya Palace

The ideya palace is a structure built to capture entities that pose a threat to whomever owns the structure. These a mostly used by Wizeman to capture rebelling nightmaren or visitors that might get violent with loyal nightmaren. Usually the renigade nightmaren known as "NiGHTS" is seen captured in one these, and usually needs assistance escaping, which brings us to the next topic. The way these structures work is due to a strange energy that makes up the force field that keeps the imprisoned being inside, but this energy gets canceled out when exposed to the energy of an ideya. Usually one ideya is enough to temporarly escape the ideya palace, but this freedom is on a timer as a sort of fail safe. It either takes all the ideya themselves or powerful ideya infused gems to completely undo this force field in a way that allows one to escape permanantly.


There are various versions of these structures, some float in the air, some float on top of the water and others are made for upside down surfaces. Wizeman has been the primary engineer of these, and it believed that the seal keeping Wizeman in the realm of dreams is in a way a large scale ideya palace, but this has not been confirmed as of now.


Ideya gems

Ideya gems are very rare items, forming when the raw power of ideya condenses into a crystaline form, breaking off the ideya of visitors. Often items can be infused with these to have certain functions based on the gem used, often as keys for ideya palaces, a sort of failsaif in case the being imprisoned inside is trapped inside or needs to be transferred elsewhere. These gems lose their connection to their visitor and can only be used a handful of times before turning to dust. These ideya are not as powerful as a full blown ideya, and it'd take a incredible amount of them to equal just a single dim ideya, and given how rare they are this is impractical

This is the most common core ideya at this point in time.
Ideya keys

Ideya keys are special items used primarily by nightmaren to safeguard ideya palaces. Usually carried by Goodles, who are known for being good at evading threats, manovering in the air and defending themselves. Wizeman has many of these for the many locks within the nightmare citadel, which is where he keeps his many tomes, scrolls and treasures locked away for safe keeping. Some of the keys in the citadel are level 5, meaning that the key has five ideya gems infused into it. level 1 keys have one gem and are simpler locks, easy to unlock. Level five is the highest level of ideya key and due to how rare the ideya gems are, making a false key is next to impossible, so stealing one is at times the only option.
