Nightmaren

Nightmaren introduction

Nightmaren are creatures created by the entity known as Wizeman and tend to thrive in the presence of fear. These creatures are subject to Wizeman's will and come in a hierarchy with their creator at the top, though it isn't strict as anomolies do occur. The heirarchy has 3rd level nightmaren at the bottom, the most numorous of the species and tend to look like animals or object. Then the 2nd level nightmaren are seen as the bosses of the species, often having their own worlds and larger, one of a kind forms. Above them are 1st levels, the nightmaren jesters who are the heads of the army of nightmare with the only entity above them being their creator Wizeman.


Nightmaren known to not exactly fit into the heirarchy are often refered to as level 0, and are either created with a very specific purpose that clashes with the roles of the heirarchy or had flaws but can still serve a purpose despite them. Another ranks that has a sub category in the hierarchy is the goodles and their bird mounts, often working as direct underlings to first levels.





Nightmaren Proper




3rd Level Nightmaren

The most numerous of the nightmaren, 3rd levels have very basic intellegence. They'll go after visitor's ideya, attack if needed and can follow basic orders from Wizeman. Some consider them the nightmaren equivilent of Nightopians, though this is up for debate. However, the fact that 3rd level nightmaren can breed with nightopians definately does give this theory more meat on its bones than most. While 3rd levels can steal the yellow, green, blue and white ideya, they cannot take the red ideya due to how courage weakens them. 3rd levels will take ideya either to a ideya capture for later retrieval or to the nearest 2nd or 1st level if possible. 3rd levels come in many shapes and some even have unique abilities.

Due to being such a low rank, their intellegence leaves much to be desired, and all they know is Wizeman's will, and thus follow it as it is all their minds know of. That is not to say they are robotic in following Wizeman's will, as some 3rd levels will flee if the situation is too much for them, and they can also follow the will of 2nd levels, who are like commanders in the nightmaren ranks. Some 3rd levels can also be kept as pets by second levels if they're seen as endearing to their commander, or maybe their 2nd level just wants to keep them as a snack for later.



2rd Level Nightmaren

2nd level nightmaren are unique, often one of a kind with their forms differing from each other. These entities are more intelligent than 3rd levels, generally being closer to sapience but still have no real will of their own. Don't let this fool you, though, they are capable of speech and reasoning. They just follow Wizeman's command first, then their own interest to a certain limit. They tend to use this intelligence to command the third levels in their domains, often to do grunt work or simple tasks they can't be bothered with. 2nd levels might also eat 3rd level if they're hungry, but prefer to eat nightopians over if given the option. Though no second level will admit this, they do like to secretly indulge in bulb fruits as a pallet cleanser. These maren also undulge in drinking Remina, a cocktail that is created from the syrup of bulb fruits, sugar and left to ferment for an entire night.
