Biography

Owl is a nightopian of the owl variety, originally going by the name "Aloysius Aisling". But with the disappearance of the other owls, he has become known as "The Owl" or simply just "Owl". He is an old being, dating back to the late days of the old age, though his memories of that time are sparse and break his heart to think about. After the end of the old age, he took up the mantle of protecting the Dream Gate and fighting any nightmaren who may try to take the ideya of visitors. He did this for thousands of years, keeping watch over the sacred Dream Gate, protecting visitors, and killing any nightmaren who dared to cross his path.

This did change when he came across the nightmaren who rebelled against Wizeman, NiGHTS. He at first simply told the first-level maren to leave the Dream Gate and never come back, not seeing them as a major threat. But as time passed, he grew fond of NiGHTS, then eventually took them in under his wing in the literal sense. Over time, he aged and could no longer take the role of a guardian, so he settled with simply being a guiding figure for visitors and unofficially gave the role of protector to NiGHTS, though they don't really do this job as Owl intended.

When two visitors named "Elliot" and "Claris" arrived in Nightopia, Owl was captured by Wizeman and thus was not present during the two's adventures. After Wizeman was defeated, he was able to break out of his prison and return home safely. Once NiGHTS manifested again, Owl felt a sense of relief at seeing them and both promised to be more careful. After a few years, two new visitors arrived at the Dream Gate, Will and Helen. Owl offered his assistance and kept watch for danger for NiGHTS and the Visitors, keeping them up to date on the advances of Nightmaren. But once Wizeman made his presence at the Dream Gate known, Owl took cover, keeping his promise to NiGHTS, despite how much it broke his heart to see the nightmaren he took in be taken away by the creator of nightmares.

When Wizeman was defeated and once NiGHTS returned, Owl was once again filled with joy to see his apprentice return home. But only a few years later, Owl's health began to decline. Now, flying is very difficult for him, and he now needs a cane to keep balance while walking. He needs to rest often and at times he'll fall into coughing fits due to how weak his lungs have gotten.
